Spring Reset Series: Resetting the Body - Part Two of Three

Spring Reset Series: Resetting the Body

Last week, we kicked off the Spring Reset Series with Resetting the Mind (you can catch that episode of the Podcast Series HERE). This week, we’re diving into the next step: how to reset the body.

When I think about resetting the body, two things come to mind. First, resetting the nervous system through somatic practices—because if we don’t feel safe and comfortable in our own bodies, it’s hard to flow through life with ease. Second, I think about how we nourish our bodies with food. What are we using as fuel?

Now, before you come at me about movement or physical exercise, let me clarify: I totally include that in the category of somatic practices. I think it’s a much nicer way to frame it than saying, “I have to work out” or “I have to go to the gym.” Instead, I like to ask, “What kind of movement does my body need today?”

So, let’s break it down into three ways to reset your body for the spring reset.

Reset Your Mind This Spring: Declutter, Simplify, and Create Space for Joy - Spring Reset Series- Part 1 of 3

Spring is the perfect time to hit the reset button on your mind. Just as we declutter our homes to create physical space, we can declutter our minds to create mental clarity, ease, and room for growth.

Mental clutter, like overwhelm, negative thoughts, and unnecessary distractions, can weigh us down and keep us stuck. But with a few intentional steps, you can clear the mental chaos, reset your mindset, and invite more joy, beauty, and comfort into your life.

I find this practice to be equally as powerful and decluttering your space. The more flow we can create in the space we live in whether physical or mental, the easier and more pleasurable our life can become. So how can we reduce the amount of friction we have in our lives?

Let's get into it.

Step 1: Declutter Your Mental Space

Mental clutter often comes from the things we expose ourselves to—whether it’s negative news, toxic relationships, or an overload of information. Start by identifying what’s draining your energy and c...

10 Daily Self-Care Practices to Stay Grounded, Empowered, and Resilient

When I look at the last couple of blog posts, I do recognize that there is a theme here.

Winter Reflection: Reconnect with Your Values and Prepare for a Thriving Year Ahead

4 Somatic Practices That You Can Do to Calm Your Nervous System

5 Ways to Stay Positive & Thrive During Times of Chaos

Most of the reason for this is, a large portion of the population in the world right now is dealing with really tough circumstances adding a lot of stresses to our lives, so it's something that is needed. Also, I'm feeling it. Really feeling it. It's a little bit of a battle when you have an overwhelming amount of world fear and disruption with a side of deep winter blues for some of us.

Personally, I'm always looking for ways to help the people in the SASC Community and to figure out, how can I help myself through these times, stay healthy and somewhat balanced, and still move forward and thrive

In times of chaos, fear, and uncertainty, it’s essential to have a toolkit of simple, effective p...

5 Ways to Stay Positive & Thrive During Times of Chaos

I can't remember a time in my life more stressful than the way things are feeling right now, and I think a majority of the people on this planet would agree. I don't care who you are, where you live, and what your values are, I believe collectively we are all feeling the intense energy that is everywhere. I also believe that most humans in this world right now want the same things. We want to be safe, have affordable shelter, adequate and healthy food, we want to be able to thrive while giving back to our communities in a beneficial and purposeful way (Our Work). We want to explore and have fun with our friends and families. We want to feel good and be able to maintain our health without a struggle. These are really just the basics and we all should have all of these things. Every person on the planet.

I started this year spiraling into a deep sadness, stress, anxiety, anger, and hopelessness. But I've had enough of that, I'm now ready to move through this shit and move forward in a ...

Week 1: Breaking Free from People-Pleasing

People-pleasing often develops as a survival mechanism, leaving us burnt out and disconnected from our authentic selves. This week highlighted how noticing when you feel pressured to please others can signal where you need to start setting boundaries.

Key Takeaway: Boundaries aren’t just about keeping others at bay; they’re about respecting yourself and showing others how you expect to be treated.

Week 2: The Emotional...

How To Transform Your Life with Journaling

How To Transform Your Life with Journaling

Those of you who have spent any time in the Soul Aligned Self Care community know that I love journaling and I use it as a tool every day in my life and I use it very often with my clients.

I know how powerful it is and how much it helps me and so many others, I can’t imagine life without it.

Journaling has been a powerful tool that I've used to change my life for the better.

Today I want to talk about the benefits, why it works so well, and some of the different ways you can use this tool!

To get started, some of the benefits for me are, my daily gratitude practice to keep me grounded and positive, using the mind dump exercise to help me vent, using breathwork and meditation to ask my higher self and the universe for guidance and the answers to difficult questions.

These are just a few ways I use journaling.

I also use it to brainstorm new ideas for my business and the farm. It’s a great way to get everything that's swirling...

How to Reset, Heal & Recharge: Creating Your Personal Sanctuary

How to Reset, Heal & Recharge: Creating Your Personal Sanctuary

The beginning of this year has been definitely centered around healing and calming my nervous system. I feel that this is what is needed for me right now and it seems to be needed by a majority of the population.

For me it’s about taking charge of my emotional state, my energy state, and keeping it steady even though there might be a lot going on, in society and maybe also in your personal space.

I feel if I can master this then I will be able to handle the stresses surrounding me in a healthy way, without it disrupting my nervous system.

How many of you are feeling this? Everyday it’s something new and if we continuously react to it then we will be in a constant state of emergency or flight or fight.

Today's topic is about having spaces to rest, heal, and recharge. Creating your own personal sanctuaries in all the spaces of your life.

You can have these spaces in your home, at work, outdoors, or t...

Going From Chaos to Calm in Your Life w/Deep Level Self Care

One of the reasons I titled this blog post as it is because of a milestone coming up for me. It has made me really think of what I do for my clients and here on the blog and podcast and this was perfect. I take them from chaos in their life to calm.

So, what's this new milestone coming up?

Big news! This week I’ll be recording my 100th episode of the Soul Aligned Self Care Podcast!

I can’t believe how fast it went by and how much fun I’ve had. I’m so grateful for all of the really interesting and cool people I've met and the friends I’ve made. It’s been such an amazing time, and I can’t wait to see what’s to come.

Reaching this point made me start to reflect on what the podcast and my business stand for, what I want to accomplish, and what things I want to add and try moving forward. I’ll cover this in a few moments.

I would like to talk about going from chaos to calm. It really simplifies what I do but, in a nutshell, it’s on point.

The people who need this are stressed, anxio...

Creating Your Personalized Self Care Tool Box

Creating Your Personalized Self Care Tool Box

So, what is your Self Care Tool Box? That’s a pretty legit question because it can mean a lot of things.

A self-care toolbox are solutions you create for yourself that help you work through difficult situations and emotions. It's about learning what helps you feel better and move through those tough emotions and situations and taking note of it in a notebook or journal and then being intentional to use those tools when you need them.

When we take the time to create a space in our journal or if you don’t have a journal, in a notebook where you keep track of what helps you feel better and also helps you move through those tough emotions, you can then respond to your life and not just continuously react.

So, I suppose the next question would be, what are tough emotions?

Well, some of the tough emotions for me would be sadness, stress, anxiety, anger, and frustration. Everyone is different though and so you would name the ones that you st...

Deep Level Self Care Series: Being A Boundary Bad*ss

In this second self-care practice from the SASC Bootcamp I will talk more about boundaries. Where you might need them, how to set them, and how to maintain them.

"I always say that boundaries are the foundation of all self-care, without boundaries to protect your energy and time, all the other self-care and self-love work get stripped down a bit."

I want to start by saying I’ve gone through this process myself going from award-winning people pleaser to boundary badass and it doesn’t happen overnight but the rewards were life-changing and life-saving for me.

Some of the benefits:

  • Reducing stress and anxiety.
  • Creating space and time for rest.
  • Creating space and time for fun.
  • Deeper more authentic relationships.
  • Expanded creativity.
  • Improved health.
  • Improved sleep.

I could keep going but as you can see, very impressive benefits.

Having the people-pleasing tendency is definitely more common among women mostly because of the societal expectation for us to be the nurturers i...
