How To Transform Your Life with Journaling
Those of you who have spent any time in the Soul Aligned Self Care community know that I love journaling and I use it as a tool every day in my life and I use it very often with my clients.
I know how powerful it is and how much it helps me and so many others, I can’t imagine life without it.
Journaling has been a powerful tool that I've used to change my life for the better.
Today I want to talk about the benefits, why it works so well, and some of the different ways you can use this tool!
To get started, some of the benefits for me are, my daily gratitude practice to keep me grounded and positive, using the mind dump exercise to help me vent, using breathwork and meditation to ask my higher self and the universe for guidance and the answers to difficult questions.
These are just a few ways I use journaling.
I also use it to brainstorm new ideas for my business and the farm. It’s a...
How to Reset, Heal & Recharge: Creating Your Personal Sanctuary
The beginning of this year has been definitely centered around healing and calming my nervous system. I feel that this is what is needed for me right now and it seems to be needed by a majority of the population.
For me it’s about taking charge of my emotional state, my energy state, and keeping it steady even though there might be a lot going on, in society and maybe also in your personal space.
I feel if I can master this then I will be able to handle the stresses surrounding me in a healthy way, without it disrupting my nervous system.
How many of you are feeling this? Everyday it’s something new and if we continuously react to it then we will be in a constant state of emergency or flight or fight.
Today's topic is about having spaces to rest, heal, and recharge. Creating your own personal sanctuaries in all the spaces of your life.
You can...
One of the reasons I titled this blog post as it is because of a milestone coming up for me. It has made me really think of what I do for my clients and here on the blog and podcast and this was perfect. I take them from chaos in their life to calm.
So, what's this new milestone coming up?
Big news! This week I’ll be recording my 100th episode of the Soul Aligned Self Care Podcast!
I can’t believe how fast it went by and how much fun I’ve had. I’m so grateful for all of the really interesting and cool people I've met and the friends I’ve made. It’s been such an amazing time, and I can’t wait to see what’s to come.
Reaching this point made me start to reflect on what the podcast and my business stand for, what I want to accomplish, and what things I want to add and try moving forward. I’ll cover this in a few moments.
I would like to talk about going from chaos to calm. It really simplifies what I do but, in a...
Creating Your Personalized Self Care Tool Box
So, what is your Self Care Tool Box? That’s a pretty legit question because it can mean a lot of things.
A self-care toolbox are solutions you create for yourself that help you work through difficult situations and emotions. It's about learning what helps you feel better and move through those tough emotions and situations and taking note of it in a notebook or journal and then being intentional to use those tools when you need them.
When we take the time to create a space in our journal or if you don’t have a journal, in a notebook where you keep track of what helps you feel better and also helps you move through those tough emotions, you can then respond to your life and not just continuously react.
So, I suppose the next question would be, what are tough emotions?
Well, some of the tough emotions for me would be sadness, stress, anxiety, anger, and frustration. Everyone is different though and so...
In this second self-care practice from the SASC Bootcamp I will talk more about boundaries. Where you might need them, how to set them, and how to maintain them.
"I always say that boundaries are the foundation of all self-care, without boundaries to protect your energy and time, all the other self-care and self-love work get stripped down a bit."
I want to start by saying I’ve gone through this process myself going from award-winning people pleaser to boundary badass and it doesn’t happen overnight but the rewards were life-changing and life-saving for me.
Some of the benefits:
I could keep going but as you can see, very impressive benefits.
Having the people-pleasing tendency is definitely more common among women mostly because of the societal expectation for us to be the...
I believe this will be the last of the Life On My Terms Series as I feel a shift moving into something else. Maybe it's the change of seasons, but I definitely feel a shift.
This topic, Finding Your Soul Aligned Friends & Family, is something that is very close to my heart. I’ve had to do this many times over for different reasons.
There are some people who will always be in my life and then there are some who have come and gone. Either way, there will always be times throughout your life when there is a need to expand your soul posse.
The first time I had to do this was when I came out of a very verbally abusive relationship where I lost the connection and trust in myself. When this happens, it’s hard to stay close to your soul family. Then, I also had to do this the many many times I moved in my life.
As we get older, I think this gets difficult because of a few reasons. Sometimes we just know who we are and are very picky about who we let into our...
I think it’s so mind-blowing to think about how many decisions we make in a day and how each decision we make leads us down a different path.
It’s crazy how much control we can have over our life experiences when we start to focus on being really intentional with the way we spend our time and taking the time to make the choices that are aligned with our true selves and our true path. When we learn how to respond to life instead of continuously reacting we can start to take control.
I always think of the Katy Perry song where she talks about your life being like a plastic bag in the wind being tossed around not knowing what life will bring you next.
While this can be true about what comes into our lives, I don’t believe it's true about the outcomes we create with those experiences that come toward us. As I said earlier, we have complete control over how we respond to our life situations so we then have control over how we want to experience...
Hello all
I'm excited to check back in with all of you sharing with you some of the discoveries I've had with some new self-care practices that I have been testing out on myself.
Last we talked I was doing some breathing practices and also some Qi Gong.
I recently did a podcast with a breathwork facilitator which was pretty interesting if you would like to listen here's the link:https://www.tinastinson.com/podcasts/soul-aligned-self-care/episodes/2147893490
I feel like the breath work has been extremely valuable to me and I also believe this will be a lifelong daily practice because it's been so effective. It can instantly lower my blood pressure and make me feel at ease and release any tension that I have in my body. There are many different breathwork practices that you could try and can easily be searched on YouTube for some free videos. I like doing box breathing and then just deep breaths in with double the breath out. This seems to work best for...
