Live With Purpose Series - How To Show Up For Yourself

As we start our new year we all have dreams, goals, new things we want to come into our lives and other things we want to let go of.

Today I would like to share with you how I show up for myself and why it’s important for you to know that you can do this for yourself also.

If you want some of the things to change in your life or if you maybe want to change everything then the first step is to KNOW that in order for things to change, you have to change. You can’t do, act, & be the same and expect different results.

The first step in this endeavor is to just make the DECISION that you are doing this for YOU and no one else but YOU. It’s important because you most likely won’t bring about big changes if there is not a lot of passion behind it. So, ask yourself the question, why do I want to do this and why is it important?

The next thing I want you to know is that to make big changes you don’t have to take huge leaps. You just have to leap. Small consistent changes over time create amazing changes. The key point is, CONSISTANT, and OVER TIME. Over time to me means, always keep moving forward no matter what. Never give up.

Giving up means giving up on yourself.

Going back to what I said at the beginning. You need to know that you can do this for yourself. That's what I mean by this. You need to know you’re willing to go the distance, you have your own back, and you can count on yourself. Because if you don't have this, it affects your confidence, your intuition, and your faith and hopes in everything.

So if you feel you’ve let yourself down in the past it's because of a couple of different reasons.

Either:

  • You were going after someone else's goal. Maye a parent, partner, society's expectations, whatever, it’s just not yours. In this case, you’re not letting yourself down.
  • You were taking big huge scary leaps. Sometimes just the thought of this stops you in your tracks, sometimes you give yourself an almost impossible task. Yes, sometimes this works out, but most times not. This can be hard on our self-esteem and confidence and also can stop us in our tracks. Big audacious goals are great, just take small steps toward them.
  • You try to figure out each step before you start and it becomes super overwhelming, too big, and you’re not sure if these are even the right steps. You often become frozen and never even start. The reason that often doesn't work out is that it's impossible to know all the steps from point A to point B and even if we did, they would change along the way depending on the outcomes from each step before it. The only step you need to know is the next step, you take that step and if it's successful you think of the next step after that. if it wasn't successful then you think how can I redirect myself, are then and only then do you come up with the next step. So as you can see nobody knows all the steps from point A to point B. It really is one step at a time, end of story.

So in order to bring about positive change in the new year, in order to show up for yourself. Just make small consistent changes over time. Keep going. If you feel overwhelmed check in with the three reasons you might be overwhelmed that I just talked about.

If you’re reading this or tuning into my live or my podcast then you are an amazing person whos always trying to do the best for yourself. There is no way to stop a person like this.

So remember, you got your back, you can count on yourself, and lastly, you’re a co-creator with the universe, what's more powerful than that?
