Did you ever wish that you had some kind of a resource that could help you reduce stress
and anxiety and practice self-care in your life every single day?
Well, I'm going to start doing that on the podcast.
Let's get into it.
You're listening to the Soul Align Self-Care Podcast.
I'm your host Tina Stinson and I had a stroke at the age of 39 from stress and burnout
that shook my world.
Now I'm laying it all out.
The deep level self-care practices and mindset shifts that I needed that can be healthy, balanced,
and thriving.
Join me in this intimate space as we explore healing, resilience, and a soul's journey to alignment.
This is where real conversations about deep level self-care happen.
Let's get into it.
Hey guys, welcome back to the Soul Align Self-Care Podcast.
I'm your host Tina Stinson and I want to thank you for hanging out with me today.
Now, I know I'm not usually here on a Monday, but I want to start something new, something
I do in some of the other places I hang out, like on social media, on my Patreon.
What I do is a weekly self-care practice and I usually make it something a little lighter,
not so deep that you could really add to your life that day easily.
So, I try to do something that's not going to take you a lot of time that you can add
in immediately to get self-care into your life easily.
So, that's the whole point to get people to practice self-care every single day.
So we're starting this week and I'm really excited about it.
But before we start, I just want to tell you about a new masterclass that I have coming up
in April and it's called the reset and thrive masterclass.
It's about taking your life from chaos to calm.
It's about getting started with your self-care and it starts off with a quiz where you
could see where you're at a balance in your life.
And then I go on to tell you and share with you different practices of self-care that
you could add into these different areas wherever you scored lower than some of the other
areas, right?
And then I will also share with you how to maximize your self-care so that all the areas
of your life get more balanced quickly.
And then I move on to showing you how to write out your core values.
And I do this by just sharing with you a few questions that you ask yourself and then
you could do it in all the different areas of your life.
And what this does is it helps you be more intentional about where you're spending your
time and how you're spending your time.
Because when you know what your core values are in all the different areas of your life,
then you know whether you're living into your core values, your purpose just by looking
at them every day, right?
And so with these three things, it's the perfect start to really start practicing self-care
to make some big changes in your life.
This will help you reduce stress and anxiety.
It will help you be more productive.
It will help you sleep better.
It helps you with so many things.
So if you want to join me for this master class, then the link will be right in the show
notes.
Okay, so now let's get into today's episode.
This week's self-care practice.
Now these are going to be really quick episodes.
I'm going to do them every week and I'm going to release them on Monday sometime.
Okay?
It's not going to be Monday morning because I just don't want to work on Sundays to
be honest with you.
So I'm going to record them probably Monday morning and release them in the afternoon.
So every week you'll have a self-care practice.
So be sure to subscribe to the show so that you get notified when I release these.
So this week's self-care practice is all about balance, right?
And the reason I decided to focus on this is because a lot of people don't believe in
balance.
Like they don't think balance exists.
And the reason I think this is is because balance is not something that you can achieve and
then just stay there without any maintenance.
But I feel like most things are like that, right?
Like you can't like work out, get into great shape and then just be like, okay, I'm here
and your body is going to stay like that forever.
No, everything requires attention.
And I believe constant attention, right?
Which is so annoying, right?
Don't you wish you could just work out and get into like really, really good shape,
get that like six pack and then just be like, all right, I did it and then just move on
to something else.
Wouldn't that be great?
Unfortunately, life is not like that.
And so I like to explain balance with a metaphor and it's my favorite metaphor and it has
to do with riding a bicycle.
So when you learn to ride bike, you get on the bicycle, right?
And you have to learn to get balanced, right?
It's kind of scary, right?
Because you just feel like the whole time you're going to fall.
And so it takes a little bit of guts, just like it takes a little bit of guts to step out
into the world and live your life.
And then when you get on the bicycle, you can't just like get yourself balanced and be like,
"Woohoo, I'm here!"
And then let go of the handlebars and just go for a ride because you'll probably just crash
and burn.
Well, the same thing is true in your life.
You can't just like expect things, like you can't just keep going and going and going
and not take care of yourself, right?
Then you'll come out of balance, too, right?
So when you're riding the bicycle, what you're doing is you're holding onto the steering wheel
and you're moving that wheel, you're shifting your weight back and forth, you're moving all
the different body parts, you're moving your arms, you're shifting your core weight back
and forth, sometimes you're even moving your head, you're looking in different directions,
you're paying attention.
And this is what we have to do in our life.
So we have to constantly think to ourselves, "How am I doing today?
What do I need to shift?"
Maybe it's like your mindset, maybe it's some of your actions, right?
In order to get back into balance.
Where am I out of balance?
And that's where that new masterclass that I was talking about just a second ago comes
in hand because I'm going to share with you a little quiz at the beginning of it that
I call the balance sheet, which is something that I usually do with all of my clients at
some point.
And I love this tool because you get it, you'll get a copy of it, and then you get to keep
it and you could use it for the rest of your life.
I use this constantly in my life just to check in with myself.
It's a really good way to check in, like I said.
And so when you get on your bicycle, you get balanced and then you get better at it, right?
You start to learn what you need to do, same thing in life.
Like you get into a groove and you're pretty balanced, right?
So you start to know what works for you, like what you should eat, the people you should
hang out with, the actions you should take, the things that you can think in your head,
the way you talk to yourself, the way you care for yourself, these are all things that
keep you in balance.
So as you move forward this week, what I want you to keep in mind is like who are the people
you surround yourself with?
What are the things you're exposing yourself to?
Like maybe media, could be the news, it could be social media, right?
It could be the things you surround yourself in your home, you know, is your home really,
really cluttered, okay?
And bring those things back into balance.
Like spend time with the people that kind of add to you, that pull you up, that don't take
away your energy.
Maybe they even add to your energy, right?
Like use media that makes you feel better.
Watch TV that makes you feel good or laugh.
Spend time on social media apps that make you feel good about yourself, that add to your life,
maybe it teaches you something.
You know, expose yourself to the things that make you feel good.
If your house is cluttered, spend some time decluttering it.
Fix one little space at a time and make it beautiful.
I also tell people, don't just stop there after you declutter, add beauty back in.
You take away the clutter, add beauty back in.
What are your favorite colors?
Maybe add some plants.
What are your favorite things?
Maybe you want to look at, what do you want to surround yourself with every day?
What is going to make you or keep you in that balance state?
As I said with the bicycle, we get better at it as we keep trying different things.
We know what works for us.
So think about all the things in your life and surround yourself with the things and the
people and the actions that keep you in balance.
And then look at all the things that throw you out of balance, whether it's a person,
whether it's doing some kind of action.
Like maybe you get really thrown out of balance when you spend too much time on Facebook.
Maybe you get really out of balance when you watch the news.
Maybe you get out of balance when you spend too much time with maybe a family member that's
a little bit toxic, okay?
How can you do less of that?
Now I'm not saying you have to remove everything that throws you out of balance, but how can
you spend less time doing that?
It's about balance, right?
So it's like, okay, well, if I drink too much coffee, I'm out of balance, okay?
I get more anxious, I get stressed.
So I'm not saying you have to stop drinking coffee.
I'm just saying maybe drink less coffee.
Maybe drink a little decaf, right?
You know, when I eat too much sugar, I don't feel good.
I have extreme highs and then it makes me tired all the time.
So I'm not saying cut out all the sugar, right?
I'm saying eat less of it.
Maybe save the sweets for special occasions, right?
Maybe put less sugar in your coffee.
Maybe you don't eat drink soda, okay?
It's about balance.
It's not black and white.
It's about adding the things back in.
It picture a scale in your head right now, another good metaphor.
One side is all the good things, one side is all the negative things.
So it's about balance.
It's not about removing all and adding all of the other things back in, right?
We all know that it's impossible to have all perfect rainbow butterfly unicorn in our
life all the time, right?
It's just not how it works.
You know, it's like the you and the you and the you and the you and the you and the you
and you need a little bit of both in our lives.
And so what can you do this week to add a little more happiness in and then spend a little
more less time, sorry, less time with the things that either suck our energy or make us feel
bad or stress us out.
What can you do this week and just pick one thing?
This is about starting small.
That's why I wanted to do this.
And so every Monday I'm going to, as I said, release an episode in the afternoon and you
can check in with it.
And if it resonates with you, awesome, do it.
Now if it doesn't resonate with you, I don't know, skip it.
Do the one that you had another one, another week that you liked.
It's all about finding what works for you and then keep doing the things that work for you.
So I hope this is helpful.
I hope you enjoyed this.
Check out the master class.
I would love to have you join me.
It's going to be very intimate.
I forgot to say that there's going to be limited spaces because I'm doing it on zoom.
And I want to be able to communicate with everybody in the master class so that I could help
you with the quiz that we take because it's very individual.
And so if it interests you to do this master class, sign up as soon as possible.
Okay, guys, I love you.
And you'll be hearing from me on Wednesday with our regular weekly broadcast of the Solar
Line Self-Care podcast.
Okay, talk soon.
Bye.
