You would not catch me in a million years on the edge of a cliff like this woman in the picture doing a balance pose....ever! Anyone who knows me knows this is true. However, it is very important to me to try to keep my life and health balanced and to do yoga in the safety of my living room.
How can you tell if you're balanced? This is a good question. I believe no one is ever really completely balanced all the time, this would be hard to sustain. What is really more realistic is trying to stay as balanced as possible to support good health.
So what does this mean?
Well, you have all these different areas of your life.
We need to pay attention to all of these different areas and when something seems a little off try to bring it back to balance the best you can. It's kinda like riding a bike. You are consistently leaning back and forth putting your weight where it is needed to stay upright. It's the same with all these different areas. If you fall just get up and start again.
I think a big issue is that we are all so busy with all these different things in our lives that we tend not to notice when things are off until it's so off it becomes an emergency. For example, getting diagnosed with an illness, physical injury, and marriage/relationship problems. The list can go on.
Right now we all seem to have a little more time to focus inward and really take notice and try to balance things out. Because of some of our situations with Covid19, this can be really challenging. It is time to really look at what is important to us and how to focus your attention on just those important things right now and also to stay focused on those same things as we head into our new normal. This is a small thing you can do for yourself and for the rest of the world as we start to re-set into the future to make this a better place for everyone.
Yes, I do believe we can improve things here on Earth if we put our focus on the things that are important. The Balance of our health, families, friends, communities we live in, and the environment.
